Nancy J. Fagan loves to write historical and contemporary women’s fiction, short stories, and essays, often with medical themes. You can find her work in Scarlet, Fiction International, Kaleidoscope Journal, Tamarind Literary (UK), and the award-winning Coolest American Stories 2023, among others. She enjoys developing strong female protagonists by digging through historical accounts and library archives to help her create realistic scenes. Her essays on living with rheumatoid arthritis have been reprinted in the US and Canada. She uses her background as a nurse who has worked in a variety of settings to bring richness and complexity to her characters.
